![]() ![]() Windows Defender keeps adding in allowances for programs through the network into the laptop, which is connected to the internet on another network. I'm studying up on setting up this kind of network but could use any references or advice on this as well. (avb goes from the Motu directly to my Presonus StudioLive mixer) I'm having trouble keeping this network, which only runs through a switch, away from the internet, and setting up the ports correctly. I'm currently setting up a second network dedicated to control and communications, including MIDI from the mio but not audio. Would this seem best? My laptop throttles at 1.8 Hz with multi-threading and turbo on and kills my VSTi plugin hosting ability in some cases. I'm thinking I should turn off the multi-threading and turbo and overclock to 4-5GHz. (another avb interface/mixer and computer on the network and a bunch of music hardware) ![]() Startech 4 Port PCIe USB 3.0 Card with 4 dedicated channels/controllers/(and even a PCIe lane for each channel) - this might not work with the Hackintosh I realize Manhattan 7 port hub with multiple controllers for USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 iConnectivity mio10 MIDI interface networked or USB'ed to two computers and my Akai Force (I'm thinking I could run Bitwig on one computer and Live rewired into Studio One and Reason as a VST (ironically Reason is not rewired) on the new desktop Ableton Live and Studio One are going to be my main DAWs, with a little bitwig and Reason thrown in sometimes. Motu 8A attached via USB3 atm but am going to switch to TB soon Gigabyte RX580 (I plan to add more monitors later) 14tb external HDD that I already had which I'll shuck at some point and install inside 2tb WD Blue NVME SSD for my most used programs and samples SK Hynix Gold 1 tb main NVMe SSD drive (saved half the space on it for setting up a dual core Hackintosh at some point) AIO CPU water cooler with a one fan radiator chenbro server case (sits well at the bottom of my audio rack) I just put together a new desktop which seemed to look like the best option right now for a dedicated music production computer. I just signed up for this forum and it looks great, with lots of good knowledge being passed around. ![]()
